On completion of this module support workers will be
able to:

  1. Explain why a person might have challenging behaviour...

  2. Describe how to make changes to the service users’ environment to reduce difficult behaviour.

  3. Know how to support the person with complex behaviours to respond differently.

  4. Assist others to respond differently to the service user’s challenging behaviour.

Intermediate Module

On completion of this module support workers will be
able to:

  1. Understand cognitive changes that impact on the
    way a Service User’s behaviour may present.

  2. How to develop strategies to reduce the likelihood or the impact of a challenging behaviour.

  3. The role and uses of Restrictive Practice in behaviour management.
